Large Gathering of People to Enter ‘Vank’ Church in Isfahan

A group of people gathered in front of the ‘Vank’ Church in Isfahan to enter the church.
Last night, videos were circulated on social media showing a large gathering of people in front of the ‘Vank’ Church in Isfahan attempting to enter the church.
Monday, December 25th (4 Dey) and Christmas celebration, the Jolfa district of Isfahan witnessed a large gathering of people to enter the church and participate in the Christmas celebration. Isfahan residents gathered enthusiastically in front of the church doors, knocking on them hoping they would open. However, due to the overcrowding, the doors of the church closed an hour earlier than usual for Christian worshippers.
People eagerly knocked on the church door and shouted “Jesus, open the door,” hoping the doors would open for them. For years, according to government media outlets, interest in Christmas celebrations among Iranian people has been increasing, while Farsi-speaking Christians are deprived of a place to worship and access to churches. Even as Christmas approaches, they raid home churches and the residences of some Christians, arresting them in an attempt to prevent and suppress Christian celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Despite the regime’s efforts and its agents’ attempts to prevent freedom of expression and sow discord among people, Iranians have united as one voice and fearlessly proclaim their beliefs.
The circulation of this video has provoked many reactions among Iranians, with many hoping that soon the doors of God’s churches in Iran will open and all people will freely worship God in churches. Many others have stated that you cannot imprison the liberating message of the Gospel. This gathering of people in front of the church door is a clear warning to you, Islamic Republic regime.
