“Ali Khamenei”: Fight Against Corruption is a Strength of the Islamic Republic

Ali Khamenei spoke about fighting corruption as a strength of the Islamic Republic on the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Fatima Zahra.
On Wednesday morning, December 13, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Fatima Zahra, Ali Khamenei met with a group of Ahl al-Bayt panegyrists at Imam Khomeini Husayniyah. During this meeting, while congratulating the birth of Hazrat Fatima, he congratulated the birth of Imam Khomeini as the standard-bearer of Fatimid struggle and paid tribute to the memory of Commander Qassem Soleimani.
Ali Khamenei considered “Jihad of Clarification” as one of the most prominent characteristics of Fatima Zahra and referred to her sermons, saying: “Intellectual organization, strong logic, solid wording, sublime language and literary beauties, sermons full of knowledge and truths of Hazrat al-Siddiqah al-Kubra, were on par with the best sermons of Nahj al-Balagha that amazed the great masters of rhetoric.”
Ali Khamenei referred to the continuation of the tradition of Jihad of Clarification in the language of the Infallible Imams and the sermons of Ahl al-Bayt and the verses of Arab-speaking poets, and continued: “In the continuation of this path in our era, Imam Khomeini raised the banner of Jihad of Clarification and through language, logic, and inspiring the people, eliminated the corrupt and shameful government of hereditary monarchical dictatorship and established a popular and Islamic government, and this historical event reveals the unparalleled importance and potential of Jihad of Clarification.”
He also considered the upcoming elections as an important arena for Jihad of Clarification and emphasized the necessity of people’s participation and their role in elections, adding: “Some want elections and people’s participation, which proves the realization of religious democracy, to be weak and inadequate so that the words and ideas of the great Imam and God’s promise become false, and against this hostile action, clarifiers must stand by presenting the facts and fulfill their duty. Elections are a duty and whoever opposes elections has opposed the Islamic Republic and Islam.”
Ali Khamenei considered turning the system’s strengths into weaknesses as one of the tactics of Iran’s ill-wishers to make people pessimistic about the system and desperate about the future, saying: “One of the strengths of the Islamic system is fighting corruption, but as soon as corruption appears somewhere and the government, judicial officials and other sectors confront it, some say corruption exists. Yes, corruption exists, but weakness is tolerating corruption and aiding it, and fighting corruption is a strength.”
In concluding his remarks, he described the Iranian nation as a lover of independence, progress, national dignity and disgusted with American braggadocio and following their lead, stating: “The reason people stand by the Islamic Republic is their affection for these values. This path is God’s path and no power is able to push people back from moving on it.”
