Lindsey Graham: Should Target Iran’s Refineries and Oil Infrastructure

Lindsey Graham responded to Hamas’s attack on Israel by stating that Iran’s refineries and oil infrastructure should be targeted.

According to Wall Street Journal reports, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hamas members, and Hezbollah held multiple meetings in Beirut starting in August to plan attacks on Israel. Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force, Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Ziad Nakhalah, Secretary-General of Islamic Jihad, and Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau, participated in these meetings.

According to Hezbollah statements and senior Hamas members, the IRGC has assisted Hamas in designing land, air, and sea attacks on Israel since these meetings and gave the green light for these attacks in a meeting held last week on October 1st in Beirut.

According to Wall Street Journal reports, the review and planning of Hamas attack details took place in multiple meetings attended by IRGC officers and representatives of four militia groups supported by the Islamic Republic in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

Following the events that began on Saturday, October 7th and the reactions of many officials in powerful countries, U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham issued a statement in response to the Islamic Republic’s role in Hamas attacks on Israel and the involvement of the terrorist group Hezbollah, stating: “If Hezbollah and other Islamic Republic proxy groups attack, Israel and America should target Iran’s refineries and oil infrastructure, which are the lifeblood of Iran’s economy.”

The Israeli Air Force, on the morning of October 9th, in response to statements by Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf that “Israelis thought no more fire would flare up from Gaza and lived with that belief, but they saw what happened,” targeted Hamas ammunition depots in Gaza, detonating them and igniting a massive fire in Gaza. Following the Israeli fighter jet attacks this morning, many people in Gaza were killed and wounded.
