Former Diplomat ‘Fereydoun Mojlesī’ Reacts to ‘Massoumeh Ābād’ Appointment as Iran’s Ambassador to Finland

Former diplomat “Fereydoun Mojlesī” responded to the appointment of “Massoumeh Ābād” as Iran’s ambassador to Finland.
Fereydoun Mojlesī, while pointing out that Massoumeh Ābād’s resume and background, who previously served as the head of the obstetrics department at “Najmiyeh” Hospital, are irrelevant to the position, stated: “Iran has no international standing that would require sending a professional diplomat on a mission to convince investors in Finland to invest, seek their support, develop trade with Iran, gain their political backing, and reciprocate their support.”
He continued with sarcasm: “Embassies are relics of the past that have cost money and homes have been purchased for them, and if no one lives in those houses, they will fall into disrepair; so it is better that a lady resides there so she can maintain it with greater care and if private gatherings among Muslim citizens are held, she can prepare more suitable food.
I do not know whether we have Islamic and non-Islamic childbirth or not, but if we do, she can assist the believers there as a midwife in Islamic childbirth.”
Massoumeh Ābād is one of the prisoners of war from the Iran-Iraq War. She earned her doctorate in reproductive health from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran and was also a member of the third and fourth Tehran City Council, her name appearing on the notorious list of astronomical property holdings from which she benefited greatly. Initially, she denied receiving property in the Ajudaniye area, but later acquired property in the sacred Ardabili district. She is Iran’s sixth female ambassador since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
