Protest Rally by Municipality and Telecommunications Company Employees Over Unpaid Wages

Employees of the municipality and telecommunications company held a protest rally in front of the buildings of the aforementioned organizations regarding their unpaid wages.
On the morning of Monday, 22 Khordad, retirees of the Telecommunications Company in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Gilan, Khuzestan, Arak, Mashhad, and Zahedan, as well as employees of Yasuj Municipality, held a protest rally in front of the telecommunications and municipality buildings in protest of their unpaid wages spanning 3 to 9 months of withheld salaries.
In recent months, these rallies had been organized several times by the aforementioned employees, demanding their outstanding payments from the mentioned organizations. However, not only did they fail to receive their demands, but the government organizations showed no response whatsoever.
The unpaid wages of these employees, which have accumulated to nearly a year, come at a time when Iran recently released a debt claim from Iraq amounting to 3 billion dollars. However, according to the oil minister, the Iranian people have no share in this amount, which was supposedly a claim for oil exported to Iraq.
