Mistreatment and Abuse of Disabled Individuals at “Niloofar Abi” Rehabilitation Center
Personnel at the “Niloofar Abi” rehabilitation center are subjecting hospitalized disabled individuals to harassment and mistreatment.
A video has been circulated on social media showing violent treatment of disabled individuals. The publication of this video has triggered widespread reaction. The “Niloofar Abi” rehabilitation center, located in Bushehr, is responsible for the care of individuals with disabilities.
The video in question shows staff members subjecting disabled individuals to beating and violence. According to statements by the Disability Campaign, individuals being cared for there are not only subjected to violence and beatings, but are also in poor sanitary conditions and suffering from malnutrition.
The Disability Campaign, through various inquiries, has called for officials to be held accountable regarding the mistreatment, harassment, abuse, violence, poor sanitary conditions, and malnutrition of individuals at the aforementioned rehabilitation center.
