Nine People Burned in Vendetta Fire Set by Revenge-Seeking Afghan Youth

Nine people were burned in a vendetta fire set by a revenge-seeking Afghan youth in a house located in south Tehran.
An 18-year-old Afghan youth set fire to nine people in a house located in south Tehran in revenge, severely injuring them. After an informed individual reported the incident to police, it was claimed that the arsonist was someone who had been sexually assaulted and was also among the victims of the incident. According to the informed individual’s statement, the 18-year-old youth had been sexually assaulted, and since those around him showed no reaction to this act, a motive for revenge took root in the victim’s mind, leading him to commit arson.
However, the 18-year-old Afghan defendant denied the assault allegation and stated: “I came to Iran from my country Afghanistan some time ago and started working. I lived for a period in the house whose residents I set on fire, but I had a financial dispute with one of the people there, and this dispute led them to tell the landlord to evict me. This was while my brother also worked with some of the victims in shops in ‘Bab Hamayoun’ and had been fired due to disagreements with them. For this reason, when they were asleep, I went to that house and set them on fire with gasoline.”
This incident occurred on Saturday, the 1st of Mehr. According to public reports and emergency services, two days after this incident, today Monday, the 3rd of Mehr 1402, the number of people killed in the fire has reached 7.
Public concern has increased after the news became widely reported, and people have expressed that unrestricted entry of Afghans into Iran and their Taliban-like behavior will endanger social security, and the system, without even considering such issues, has only opened the door for their entry for its own interests to achieve its goals, while the lives and security of Iranian people hold the least value for the system and will continue to do so.
