Continuation of Chemical Attacks on Girls’ Schools and Student Poisoning

Chemical attacks on girls’ schools and poisoning of many students continue.
Six months have passed since chemical attacks on schools, specifically girls’ schools only, and these attacks continue to occur.
Today, Saturday, April 29, 2023, several schools in Iran were subjected to chemical attacks. Sama High School located in Pasdaran, Paydar Fard Street (opposite the Swiss Embassy), Abarar Girls’ Vocational School of Arts and Sciences, and Mehdizadeh-Nia Girls’ Vocational School in Qasamabad Mashhad were targeted by these attacks.
According to eyewitness reports from Pasdaran Paydar Fard Street, an orange-colored, foul-smelling gas was sprayed in the school. The school principal, Khadijeh Rezaei, attempted to deceive students by saying that only a colored firecracker had exploded and that it was nothing serious. She also prevented students from leaving the school, and intelligence agents, upon arrival at the school, allegedly took away the so-called “smoke crackers” with them.
This eyewitness further explains that parents were dispersed and not allowed entry to the school. Upon parents’ request to view security camera footage, they discovered that the surveillance cameras had also been removed. Parents also approached the Swiss Embassy hoping they might be able to track the incident through the embassy’s surveillance cameras, but embassy officials did not open the door to the parents.
However, regime officials have stated that the system had no involvement in these attacks; rather, it is the students themselves who, under the influence of cyberspace and youthful mischief, have resorted to such actions to escape school. The regime’s claim regarding these attacks occurring through students comes despite the fact that such chemical weapons are only in the possession of the regime and not ordinary people, so they could not be so easily used across the country in various schools.
