709 Patients Amid Ongoing Dust Storm Crisis in Sistan and Baluchestan

The dust storm crisis in Sistan and Baluchestan, which began in early Tir, has sent 709 people to medical centers since July 27.

According to the head of the Crisis Management Office of Sistan and Baluchestan Province’s governorate, following a new wave of winds in the Sistan region from July 27 to the present, 709 residents from the cities of Zabol, Zehak, Hamoun, Helmand, and Nimroz have been admitted to medical centers, with 44 of them hospitalized so far.

The dust storm crisis that began in early Tir has so far sent approximately 2,000 people to hospitals and medical centers. A crisis that officials have taken no action to address or investigate. This crisis has caused respiratory and cardiac problems for people, and this incident comes at a time when in previous years we faced a similar, albeit fabricated, crisis. In the past, videos were circulated on social media showing machines that generate dust creating dust clouds and polluting the air of this province at the Sistan and Baluchestan border. Therefore, it is suspected that this crisis, which has lasted a month and has not diminished in intensity, may be artificial dust meant to disturb public opinion during ongoing protests.

This crisis has disrupted the daily lives of residents in the aforementioned cities. People are waiting in hopes that officials might be able to take action to address this problem.
