Mohsen Shekari Executed in News Blackout

Mohsen Shekari is one of the protesters who injured a Basij officer on Setareh Khan Street on September 24, 2022. He was executed this morning, December 8, in a news blackout.

According to Mizan News Agency, the media outlet of the judiciary, a preliminary ruling in the case of one of the rioters was issued some time ago. Based on the verdict issued by Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, Mohsen Shekari was sentenced to death on charges of enmity against God through drawing a weapon with intent to kill and spreading terror, and depriving people of freedom and security, as well as intentional wounding of a Basij officer with a cold weapon while performing duty, blocking Tehran’s Setareh Khan Street, and disrupting social order and security.

Mohsen Shekari, son of Masoud, was executed this morning after dawn prayers with a noose around his neck in a news blackout for the crimes with which he was charged by the Islamic Republic government.
