Trane Alidousti’s Support for People’s Revolution

Trane Alidousti’s message of support for the people’s revolution: I am stepping away from work, and I believe in what we are building together today.
Trane Alidousti was born in 1362 in Tehran. She is an actress fluent in English and also a literary translator. Trane Alidousti is a feminist woman who recently posted a message on her personal Instagram page in support of Iran’s people’s revolution.
In her remarks, she said: During the bloody November of 1398, when I wrote contrary to my previous belief “we are not citizens, we have never been. We are prisoners, millions of prisoners,” I could see this day coming.
I tell you that I will remain in Iran and have absolutely no intention of leaving Iran. Contrary to the widespread rumors that have circulated on the tongues of your supporters over these years, I do not hold a passport or residency anywhere except Iran. I will stay and like all the people whose lives hang by a thread, I will rise up. And when I cry out to claim my rights, I will hold my head high and look you in the eye. I have inherited this courage from the women of my land, who for years have begun each day of their lives with resistance and the pursuit of equality, and ended it with a dream of freedom.
I remain in Iran and I am stepping away from work. I stand with the families of the imprisoned and the killed, and I will be their advocate for justice. I fight for my homeland, I will pay any price to stand by my rights, and most importantly, I believe in what we are building together today.
This encouraging message from Trane Alidousti as a people’s artist has once again made people realize that there are still artists who have stood with the people and are not beneficiaries of the Islamic Republic’s government. There are those who are even willing to step back from the position they hold in order to stand with the people.
With hope for the day when all artists of our country, regardless of their positions, will stand with the people in pursuit of justice.
