Malika Qaragozlu Arrested by Security Forces

Hrana News Agency – On Wednesday evening, July 22, Malika Qaragozlu, a journalism student at Allameh Tabataba’i University, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organization of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, on Wednesday evening, July 22, 1401 (solar calendar), Malika Qaragozlu, a journalism student at Allameh Tabataba’i University, was arrested by security forces.
Ms. Qaragozlu recently protested against mandatory hijab laws in a video in which she removed her headscarf.
To date, no information is available about the charges against her, the arresting agency, or the location of her detention.
Malika Qaragozlu was previously arrested by security forces during the nationwide protests of November 2019, and was later released from Evin Prison after posting a bail of 600 million tomans. She was sentenced by Tehran’s Revolutionary Court to six months of punitive imprisonment in late 1998. This citizen was included in the amnesty decree of the head of the judiciary in November 2020 and was released from prison.
