Citizen in Shush Commits Suicide Due to Financial Hardship

Hrana News Agency – A citizen in Shush county committed suicide due to financial difficulties and lost his life.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news outlet of the Iranian human rights activists network, on Monday, September 5, 2022, a citizen in Shush county committed suicide following financial hardship and lost his life.
His identity was confirmed by Hrana as “Sajad Al-Baji, 26 years old, from Zoviyeh neighborhood in Ahvaz county, married with 3 children.”
An informed source told Hrana: “Sajad previously worked in a shop but was fired from his job about a year ago by the shop owner, which led to a conflict between the two. Eventually, the shop owner filed a complaint against Sajad over the dispute. He was then detained and released some time later on bail as a temporary measure.”
The informed source added: “Mr. Al-Baji was obligated to pay a monthly amount to his bail guarantor; during his unemployment, he not only failed to pay the agreed amount to his bail guarantor but also faced difficulties paying his house rent, as a result of which the landlord asked him to leave his rented house. Ultimately, Sajad could not bear the economic pressure and, while taking refuge in his mother’s house with his children and wife, ended his life there.”
