Evin Prison: Continued Detention and Visiting Ban for 4 Detained Labor and Trade Union Activists

Hrana News Agency – Hassan Saeidi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi, and Aniseh Asadollahi, labor and trade union activists, remain detained in Evin Prison in limbo. Today, Thursday, July 20th, despite families of these citizens’ visit to Evin Prosecutor’s Office, officials prevented these detained citizens from meeting with their families.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, Hassan Saeidi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi, and Aniseh Asadollahi, labor and trade union activists, remain detained in Evin Prison in limbo.
Today, Thursday, July 20th, 2022, despite families of Hassan Saeidi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi, and Aniseh Asadollahi, detained labor and trade union activists, visiting Evin Prosecutor’s Office, officials prevented these citizens’ families from meeting with them.
Khadijeh Pakzamir, Mohammad Habibi’s wife, wrote on her personal page: “Today I went to Evin with a number of families of our detained loved ones to visit. But they said that Mohammad and other detained teachers and labor activists remain banned from visits. We brought some books to give to our detained loved ones; but they did not accept the books from us”.
Earlier, the Evin Prosecutor’s Office told Mr. Habibi’s family that his detention order had been extended for the third consecutive month.
Hassan Saeidi, who was arrested by security forces at his home on May 19th and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, is on his twenty-seventh day of hunger strike.
Messrs. Habibi and Badaghi were transferred to solitary cells in Ward 240 of Evin Prison on Tuesday, June 14th. They were arrested on May 1st and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center known as Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
Aniseh Asadollahi, a labor activist, was also arrested by security forces in May of this year and remains detained in Ward 209 of Evin Prison in limbo.
