Dari County: Two Environmental Rangers Injured in Illegal Hunters’ Gunfire

On the morning of Friday, July 17, two environmental rangers were injured as a result of gunfire from illegal hunters in the Mand protected area, which is under the jurisdiction of Dari County.

According to Hrana news agency, citing Radio and Television Organization of Iran, two environmental rangers in Dari County were wounded following a clash with poaching hunters.

The General Director of Environmental Protection of Bushehr Province stated in this regard: On the morning of Friday, July 17, 1401 (July 8, 2022), environmental rangers Mohammad Reza Zarei and Asghar Ismaili, while pursuing two illegal hunters in the Mand protected area of Dari, came under fire from the hunters and were severely wounded.

Farhad Gholi-Nejad expressed: The injured environmental rangers were transferred to Kanghan Hospital for treatment; the general condition of ranger Zarei is not satisfactory and he has undergone surgery.

Gholi-Nejad said: Legal prosecution for identifying and arresting the illegal hunters began on the orders of Bushehr Province’s prosecutor in the initial hours.

It is worth noting that on November 11 of last year, in the same area (Mand protected area), two other environmental rangers were injured following gunfire from illegal hunters.

Last November, two environmental rangers were also injured as a result of gunfire from illegal hunters in this protected area.
