Date and Branch Set for Reza Sharfkhani’s Hearing

Hrana News Agency – The hearing into charges against Reza Sharfkhani, secretary of the Center and Committee for Pursuing War Reparations between Iran and Iraq, will be held on June 15, 2022, at Branch 3 of the Mashhad Disputes Resolution Council. The case was opened following a complaint filed by the Martyrs Foundation and Veterans Affairs Organization.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Iranian human rights activists network, Reza Sharfkhani has been summoned to the Mashhad Disputes Resolution Council via a notice.
In this notice, Mr. Sharfkhani has been asked to appear on June 15, 2022, regarding charges of “insulting officials and government employees, slander and spreading falsehoods, and disrupting public order and peace” at Branch 3 of the Mashhad Disputes Resolution Council.
The case was opened following a complaint filed by the Martyrs Foundation and Veterans Affairs Organization against Mr. Sharfkhani.
Reza Sharfkhani, secretary of the Center and Committee for Pursuing War Reparations between Iran and Iraq, along with Hamid Vahedi and Hossein Mahmoudi, was previously summoned by the security police on June 1. Mr. Sharfkhani was also summoned to the security police for the third time in May of this year. His summons came as a result of a complaint filed by Amirhossein Ghazi Zada Hashemi, Vice President and Head of the Martyrs Foundation and Veterans Affairs Organization.
As of the time this report was prepared, precise information about the reasons for his summons was not available; however, it is reported that his summons followed a nationwide call by war casualties of the Iran-Iraq War regarding the pursuit of implementing clauses 6 and 7 of Resolution 598.
