According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, early Monday morning, June 30th, 1401, the execution of Firuz Moussa Lou at Orumiyeh Prison was carried out.

This political prisoner was transferred from the general ward of Orumiyeh Prison to an unknown location on Saturday, June 28th. Mr. Moussa Lou had previously been sentenced to death by the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court on the charge of “enmity against the state through membership in one of the opposition parties,” and the verdict had been delivered to him in prison.

In the late hours of the same day, a Persian news agency close to security institutions, without mentioning the name and details of the case, claimed based on a report from the head of the judiciary of West Azerbaijan province that someone convicted of killing two border guards in the province was executed today. Although the details of Firuz Moussa Lou’s case are unclear, based on available evidence, it appears that this media outlet’s reference and the judicial official’s statement refer to the execution of Mr. Moussa Lou.

Firuz Moussa Lou was arrested on July 11th, 2019, by the intelligence forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and transferred to their detention facility in Orumiyeh for interrogation. He was transferred from the IRGC intelligence detention facility in Orumiyeh to the city prison on December 2nd, 2019. Mr. Moussa Lou was transferred from Orumiyeh Prison to the intelligence agency’s detention facility on June 21st, 2020, and was returned to prison from this security agency’s detention facility on July 7th of the same year.
