Islamic Republic Alarmed by Arab-Israeli Military Cooperation

The Islamic Republic has become alarmed and concerned about military cooperation between Arab countries and Israel.

Following its attack on Israel and the possibility of retaliatory strikes from the country, as well as the beginning of military cooperation between Arab countries and Israel, the Islamic Republic warned Persian Gulf Arab states: “It is unacceptable to Tehran if permission is granted to use their airspace or military bases against the Islamic Republic. Any action of this nature will be met with a response.”

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, who traveled to Riyadh, had also warned before this trip regarding the possibility of an Israeli attack and Arab cooperation, saying: “The Islamic Republic is not seeking to escalate tensions and war, although we are not afraid of war and are prepared for every scenario. The armed forces of the Islamic Republic are in full readiness and have identified all necessary targets.”

Coinciding with the Islamic Republic’s warning to pressure regional governments to deter them from cooperating with Israel, Joe Biden is also attempting to limit a potential Israeli attack on Iran. American concern about the expansion of war in the region and rising oil prices is one of the reasons for this country’s efforts to limit the conflict.

Concern over rising oil and gas prices and fear of an “Iranian oil vacuum” in the energy market is one of the deterrent factors on which the Biden administration and European governments are based in their efforts to dissuade Israel from at least targeting the Islamic Republic’s refining facilities.

Reuters news agency also wrote about this: “If Israeli retaliation destroys some of this country’s facilities, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which is effectively led by Saudi Arabia, has sufficient spare oil capacity to compensate for any loss of supply by Iran.”

A diplomat in the Persian Gulf also said: “The Islamic Republic explicitly stated that Tehran is seeking regional unity in the face of an Israeli attack and regards the neutrality of Persian Gulf countries as meaningless.”

According to this diplomat’s statements, the Iranian regime explicitly stated that Tehran will monitor how each of the Persian Gulf littoral states responds to the Israeli attack as well as how the United States responds.

It should be noted that Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE host American forces. After the signing of the “Abraham Accords,” several Arab governments increased their cooperation with Israel in economic, cultural, defense, and military sectors, which is precisely what Ayatollah Khamenei has explicitly stated his opposition to.
