Citizen Attempts Self-Immolation in Front of Ilam Housing Foundation Building

On Sunday, the 3rd of Bahman, a citizen in Ilam city attempted self-immolation in front of the Ilam Province Housing Foundation building due to problems arising from the issuance of completion of work for his residential unit. This citizen sustained 60 percent burns.
According to Hrana news agency citing ISNA, today Sunday, the 3rd of Bahman 1400, one of the residents of Cheshmeh Kabud village, a suburb of Ilam city, in protest of problems resulting from the issuance of completion of work for his residential unit, attempted self-immolation in front of the Ilam Province Housing Foundation building.
Habibollah Mohebbi, Director General of the Ilam Province Housing Foundation, while confirming the incident, claimed: This person was seeking the completion of work for his residential unit, which should have been done at the village administration and district office.
The headman of Cheshmeh Kabud village also claimed that given this citizen’s financial situation, some fees that he was supposed to pay have been waived. He added: The issuance of completion of work for this person was issued yesterday, and today he came to the Ilam Province Housing Foundation to finalize the matter and receive certification for obtaining the third installment of his facilities loan, and apparently after a confrontation with one of the foundation’s employees, he attempted self-immolation.
Mohammad Jamalvandi stated this citizen’s age as approximately 43 years old and said: Apparently this person sustained 60 percent burns.
