Charges Read to Narges Mohammadi in Evin; Singing the Song ‘Tulips Bloomed from the Blood of Youths of the Homeland’ Is Among Her Charges

Tagi Rahmani, husband of Narges Mohammadi, announced through a post on his Telegram channel the reading of charges against this imprisoned civil activist.
Mr. Rahmani wrote on Tuesday, November 24, that Narges Mohammadi, spokesperson and deputy head of the Defenders of Human Rights Center, was transferred on Monday from solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin Prison to the sacred prosecutor’s office in Evin Prison and new charges including “participation in ceremonies for November killings in a continuous manner,” “lighting candles for victims of the Ukrainian plane crash,” “publishing news of abuse of female prisoners in prison,” and “membership in the Defenders of Human Rights Center” were served to her.
According to this report, singing the song “Tulips Bloomed from the Blood of Youths of the Homeland for the November Killings,” “publishing the book White Torture,” and “non-compliance with a court sentence of 30 months imprisonment, flogging, and monetary penalties” are among other charges served to Ms. Mohammadi in the sacred prosecutor’s office.
The spouse of this imprisoned civil activist further added that all of Narges Mohammadi’s activities after her release from prison on October 9, 2020, have been considered criminal.
Narges Mohammadi was arrested on Tuesday, November 16, on the second anniversary of the beginning of Iran’s popular protests in November 2019 and the killing and detention of hundreds of protesters by security and military forces, while participating in a ceremony marking the second anniversary of remembrance of Ibrahim Ketabdar, who was one of the victims of these protests, in Karaj.
Ms. Mohammadi, one day after her arrest, in a brief phone call from Evin Prison, reported the service of a sentence of “30 months imprisonment” issued for her and said she was to be flogged.
Tagi Rahmani had previously reported on June 22 of the current year the re-conviction of this imprisoned civil activist by Branch 1177 of the Criminal Court of the Two Qods Judicial Complex in Tehran to “enduring 80 lashes of disciplinary flogging, 30 months of disciplinary imprisonment and payment of two monetary penalties.”
