Tehran Metro Operating Company Employee Attempts Self-Immolation

On Tuesday, November 16, one of the employees of Tehran and Suburban Metro Operating Company, in protest against failure to address his demands, attempted self-immolation at his workplace, which was ultimately prevented through the intervention of his colleagues.

According to Hrana news agency citing IRNA, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, one of the employees of Tehran and Suburban Metro Operating Company attempted self-immolation.

Based on this report, the action of this citizen, who is said to be the child of one of the victims of the Iran-Iraq War, took place during a meeting between the metro operating company’s CEO and the company’s employees.

This citizen’s motivation for this action was cited as protest against the failure of the said company’s officials to address his demands over the past several years.

Ultimately, through the intervention of other employees of this company, the protest action of this citizen, who intended to end his life by pouring gasoline on himself, was prevented.
