The U.S. Secretary of State, in his remarks, held Iran responsible for the attack on an Israeli-managed oil tanker off the coast of the Oman Sea.
According to the German news agency, Anthony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, said on Sunday, August 1st (Mordad 10) that the U.S. government is now consulting and exchanging views with its allies on deciding for an “appropriate response” to this attack.
Blinken emphasized that after reviewing the evidence, the United States has concluded that Iran carried out this attack on July 29th with the help of explosive drones.
In this attack, which took place on Mordad 7th, one British and one Romanian national were killed.
Blinken emphasized that “there is no justification for this attack.” He said that Iran’s actions jeopardize freedom of navigation, international trade, and the lives of ship crews.
Before him, Dominic Raab, British Foreign Secretary, and Yair Lapid, his Israeli counterpart, had held Iran responsible for this assault.
Yair Lapid met with Anthony Blinken on Saturday, August 9th (Mordad 9) and discussed this matter. During this meeting, Blinken promised Israel that he would assist the country in investigations to examine the facts in this regard.
