Man Arrested on Charges of Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl in Tehran

A man has been arrested on charges of assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Tehran. The suspect’s case has been referred to the criminal court of Tehran Province for further investigation and examination.
According to a report by Hrana news agency, citing Javan Online, a man accused of assault in Tehran has been arrested.
Based on this report, some time ago a young man went to the Tehran Police Department and filed a complaint against another man, claiming: “I noticed some suspicious behavior from my wife some time ago and realized she had a relationship with a stranger, but since I wasn’t certain, I didn’t say anything. However, some time later I found out that this man had assaulted my 13-year-old daughter.”
He added: “The stranger’s name is Saman and he works as an employee at one of the government offices. A few days ago, when I saw my daughter distressed, I asked her what was wrong. She told me that she had been assaulted by this person at her grandmother’s house. I then filed a complaint against both my wife and this man.”
Following this complaint, the teenage girl was also investigated. She stated: “One day I was at my grandmother’s house when Saman called and entered the house. After some time, my grandmother left to go shopping. When Saman saw me alone, he came after me and tried to deceive me with his words. I resisted, but he forcibly assaulted me. Not much time had passed when my grandmother returned home, saying she had forgotten her ATM card. When she saw me in that condition, she was upset and threw Saman out of the house. She then wanted me not to tell anyone about it, but a few days later I broke my silence and told my father the truth.”
Following the documentation of these statements from the young man and the complainant’s spouse, both were arrested. The young man denied the allegations during interrogation.
After the suspect’s denial, with the corroboration of the teenage girl’s claims by forensic medical experts, the case was sent to the criminal court of Tehran Province for further investigation and examination. The suspect appeared before Branch Eleven of the court.
In response to questions from the judicial panel, the suspect claimed: “Due to my occupation, I had gone to the complainant’s house and was obliged to ask his wife some questions to carry out my work. When he saw us talking, he became suspicious and has since believed that I have a relationship with his wife. That is why he filed a complaint against me.”
Following the recording of the suspect’s statements and the completion of investigations, the young man will be tried in a hearing at the same branch under the presidency of Judge Hashmatian.
