3.9 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Tehran Province Suburbs

An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was felt in several areas of Tehran on Sunday afternoon, Mordad 24.
According to a preliminary report from the National Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute at the University of Tehran, the earthquake occurred at 17:15 local time in the east of Tehran province – on the border between Tehran and Mazandaran provinces in the vicinity of Bahmden.
Peyman Saberian, head of the National Emergency Center, announced that this earthquake has caused no damage or injuries so far.
The earthquake was also felt in Damavand. In Esfand of last year, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Damavand resulted in the death of one person and injuries to several residents of the city.
In Khordad of last year, Tehran was also shaken by a 4.4 magnitude earthquake. This earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers in Tehran (Damavand – Rudehen) at 13:41.
For years, experts have been warning about the possibility of a severe earthquake in Tehran, a topic that has caused significant concern among the city’s residents.
