US B-52 Bombers Resume Flights Over Persian Gulf

One day after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ military exercises and missile tests, American warplanes once again took to the skies over Persian Gulf waters. B-52 bombers, after crossing Israeli airspace, conducted patrol operations in the Persian Gulf skies.

In the final days of Donald Trump’s administration, tensions in the Persian Gulf have escalated. Over the past weeks, the Islamic Republic of Iran has conducted three military exercises, while the United States has increased its military presence in Persian Gulf waters and the Indian Ocean.

The Associated Press reported on the renewed flights of American bombers over Persian Gulf waters.

Israeli media outlets previously confirmed the B-52 bomber flights over this country’s airspace.

The “Jerusalem Post” newspaper, in a brief report, announced the flight of two American B-52 aircraft over Israeli airspace.

According to the newspaper’s report, American bombers on Sunday, December 28 [on the Persian calendar] (January 17), crossed Israeli airspace and conducted patrol operations over Persian Gulf waters.

This is the fifth flight of American fighter jets over Persian Gulf waters in recent weeks. The United States has, in particular, increased its military presence in the region in connection with the anniversary of the drone attack on the vehicle of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force.

The flights of American warplanes over Persian Gulf waters take place one day after missile tests by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“Fox News” in a report on Iran’s missile launch during the Guard Corps exercises claimed that one of Iran’s missiles landed within one hundred miles of the American aircraft carrier “USS Nimitz.”
