Najafabad: Death of COVID-19 Patient Following Unauthorized Traditional Medicine Prescription

The prosecutor of Najafabad county announced the death of a COVID-19 patient following the use of traditional medicine prescribed by an unauthorized treatment facility. According to him, the suspect was arrested following a complaint filed by the deceased’s family.

According to Hrana news agency, citing IRNA, a COVID-19 patient in Najafabad died after using traditional medicine prescribed by an unauthorized treatment facility.

The prosecutor of Najafabad county stated in this regard: “The family of a 27-year-old man who suffered from Down syndrome sought treatment at this unauthorized traditional medicine facility after their son’s COVID-19 test came back positive.”

Ali Zare added: “This young man died after three days of using the medicine prescribed by this unauthorized traditional medicine facility.”

Referring to the fact that this is the fourth time the operator of this unauthorized facility has been arrested due to complaints from patients and visitors, he added: “Following a complaint filed by the parents of the young man, the violator who claimed to treat COVID-19 disease outside of professional channels was arrested.”

Zare continued: “The suspect, by holding multiple sessions claiming to treat COVID-19 disease and organizing unnecessary gatherings, and encouraging attendees not to wear masks, had prompted protests from many residents.”

He said: “The file of this person is under investigation and examination, and expert opinions are being sought in this prosecution office.”
