Abuse Leading to Death of 6-Year-Old Child in Karaj

A six-year-old boy in Karaj, who was subjected to severe physical torture and sexual abuse by his paternal aunt, lost his life after being transferred to a hospital. The suspect has been arrested and transferred to prison.

According to Hrana news agency, citing Shargh newspaper, several days ago the half-dead body of a six-year-old child was brought to a hospital in Karaj, and the child’s paternal aunt, who claimed the child had fallen on the floor, asked doctors to save him.

The woman claimed: “I was washing the house when the child slipped on the wet floor and fell.”

These statements did not seem logical to the doctors, so the body was sent to the forensic medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death. After examining the body, specialists announced that the child had been subjected to severe torture and showed signs of sexual abuse on his body. The exact cause of death was determined to be skull fracture and brain hemorrhage as a result of head impact against a hard object. As a result, the child’s paternal aunt was interrogated.

She confessed to beating and abusing the boy and said: “My husband’s brother and his wife were separated, and neither of them was willing to care for this child, so my husband brought him to our house for me to take care of him. I disagreed with my husband over this matter and said it had nothing to do with me to care for your brother’s child. But my husband insisted on raising his brother’s child himself and said the child should not grow up in welfare. The child had no bladder control and would wet himself every time. On the day of the incident, when he wet himself, I got angry and hit him. His head hit the wall and he lost consciousness. I immediately wet the floor and told my husband the child had fallen and hit his head on the ground. We immediately took him to the hospital and they said they couldn’t help the child, so we took him to another hospital to save him.”

Regarding the marks of abuse on the child’s body, the suspect said: “Because the child had no bladder control and would wet himself every time, I would punish him with a stick so he would learn not to wet himself again. The marks that exist on his body as assault are just punishment marks.”

After the tragic cause of the child’s death was determined, the heirs filed a complaint against the suspect, and thus the case was taken to the prosecutor’s office. Nader Beigi, head of the Alborz Police Intelligence Department, while confirming this news, said: “The suspect has currently been transferred to prison and investigations are continuing.”
