Official COVID-19 Statistics in Iran; At Least 133 More Patients Died

According to the latest official statistics from the Ministry of Health on Monday, September 25, the total number of COVID-19 victims in Iran has reached 20,776 people.

According to Sima Sadat Lari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, 133 patients with coronavirus died in Iran in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 20,776.

She also said that during this period, 2,245 new patients were identified, and the total number of people infected with coronavirus in Iran reached 361,150.

The official COVID-19 statistics, which are announced daily by the Ministry of Health, have always been subject to doubt. Iran’s parliamentary research center had previously estimated the death toll of patients to be twice the official statistics.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health also stated that 26 provinces are still in a red or warning situation regarding the spread of coronavirus.

In recent days, officials from the Ministry of Health have warned about the third wave of coronavirus in Iran and rising death rates in the fall.

Iraj Harirchi, deputy minister of health, treatment and medical education of Iran, said in this regard that to deal with this situation, the prescription of flu vaccine in vulnerable groups will increase.
