15-Year-Old Girl Attempts Suicide in Kermanshah

On Wednesday, the 12th of Shahrivar, a 15-year-old girl in Kermanshah attempted to take her own life by jumping from the fifth floor of a building, but firefighting personnel prevented her from carrying out the act. According to the Legal Medicine Organization, teenagers account for more than 7 percent of annual suicides in Iran.
According to Hrana news agency, citing IRNA, on Wednesday, the 12th of Shahrivar 1399, a 15-year-old girl in Kermanshah who intended to commit suicide by jumping from the top of a building was rescued.
Kiyan Maleki, commander of this operation, said: “Wednesday evening, following a call from citizens to the 125 emergency line, a report was received about a teenage girl’s suicide attempt in the city of Kermanshah.”
He added: “Rescue and emergency teams from fire stations number 5 and 7, along with a jump pad from the central station, were dispatched to the reported location in the Eithe complex.”
Kiyan Maleki continued: “The 15-year-old girl, who was under severe psychological stress, was calmed down through guidance and conversation with experienced firefighting personnel using special methods and was transferred down from the fifth floor of the complex.”
