Joe Biden Officially Nominated by Democratic Party for US Presidential Election

An anticipated event has become official: Joe Biden will formally be the main rival to Donald Trump in the US presidential election next November. The majority of the party body supports this 77-year-old politician.

American Democrats formally announced Joe Biden as their main nominee for the US presidential election on November 3rd during a ceremony on Tuesday evening, August 18 (August 28 in the Persian calendar) in local time, competing against 74-year-old Donald Trump. Most of the party body announced its support, largely through virtual participation, for the 77-year-old politician and former US Vice President.

Joe Biden welcomed his nomination with enthusiastic words and left no doubt that on Thursday, on the last day of the Democratic convention, he will formally accept the party’s nomination.

On the second day of the party convention, former Presidents Jimmy Carter (1977-1981) and Bill Clinton (1993-2001) announced their full support for Joe Biden.

Carter said in an audio message: “Biden has the experience, insight, and complete ability to unite us and recreate America’s greatness.” He added that he is confident that Joe Biden is sincere and determined in his service to America.

Bill Clinton strongly criticized 74-year-old Donald Trump. He said in a video message: “We live in a time when the White House should be a command center, but instead it has become a center of chaos and turmoil.”

According to Clinton: “There is constant chaos in the White House and only one thing doesn’t change: Trump’s decision to escape responsibility and blame others.”

If Joe Biden wins the November election, Kamala Harris will be the first Black woman to serve as Vice President. Harris’s nomination as Joe Biden’s Vice President is scheduled to be officially announced on Wednesday (August 19).
