Israeli Foreign Ministry: Thousands of Iranians Have Requested Asylum and Aid from Israel

The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, citing the Israeli Foreign Ministry, reports that thousands of Iranians have requested asylum and aid from Israel.

According to the report, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday, May 21, that with the outbreak of coronavirus, the number of Iranians seeking aid from Israel has increased.

The report, citing Yifat Curiel, head of the digital diplomacy department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, states: “Thousands of people have sought to enter Israel for medical assistance or migration.”

She added: “Many Iranians, both in Iran and outside the country, support Israel, are opposed to the [Islamic Republic] regime, and want to witness a different future [in relations] between the two countries.”
