Collapse of Part of Saadabad Palace Wall “Due to Moisture Seepage”

In a report published on Sunday, April 20, ILNA news agency reported the collapse of “15 meters of the Saadabad Palace wall.”
Kia Parsa, director of the Saadabad complex, attributed the wall collapse to the deterioration of the water channel within the complex and stated that the incident occurred due to moisture seeping into the wall, adding that “such a threat exists for the entire Saadabad complex”.
According to Parsa, the collapsed wall is old, with a total length of one kilometer, and was built during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi.
Currently, the maintenance and management of this section of Saadabad Palace is under the responsibility of “the Office of the President,” and the Iranian president has hosted several foreign counterparts at these palaces.
The director of the Saadabad complex emphasized that given the age of this complex, during heavy rains especially in spring, “such a threat exists for the entire Saadabad complex” and attention must be paid to “reinforcing” it.
He did not clarify whether a plan exists in this regard, but stated that for the collapsed section, “necessary correspondence has been conducted to attract resources for restoration.”
The historic Saadabad complex is located in northern Tehran on a land area of 110 hectares and contains approximately 180 hectares of natural forest, springs, and water channels.
