After Exposing Forced Confessions and Arab Prisoners’ Conditions; Sepideh Qolian Temporarily Released on 180 Million Rial Bail

Sepideh Qolian, a civil activist who is temporarily released on bail, announced a 180 million rial bail from a third case filed against her in the Islamic Republic’s judicial authorities.

On Sunday, Esfand 20, Sepideh Qolian stated on her Twitter account that due to publicizing news about Arab prisoners as “propaganda against the system” and in relation to exposing the role of interrogator-journalist Ameneh Sadat Zabihpour as “spreading falsehoods,” she has been accused.

This civil activist, noting that this is the third case filed against her in judicial authorities, wrote that she has been temporarily released on a 180 million rial bail.

Previously, Ms. Qolian mentioned on Twitter her personal experience regarding televised confessions during her detention and wrote that a IRIB journalist named “Ameneh Sadat Zabihpour” during the production stages of a television program called “Burnt Design” had prepared a text in the interrogation room for televised confession, which she gave to Sepideh Qolian to read in front of the camera.

She also published a series of tweets on Monday, Dey 30, coinciding with the anniversary of her and her brother’s detention, detailing this arrest and the re-appearance of Ameneh Sadat Zabihpour, IRIB journalist, to obtain forced confessions.

Sepideh Qolian, who was arrested following her exposure of forced confessions and torture along with Ismail Bakhshi and was later temporarily released on Aban 4 along with several labor activists in Iran on a 500 million rial bail, was again arrested on Saturday night, Aban 25, at her father’s house following participation in popular protests in Aban month, and after several days was finally temporarily released on Azar 12 on a 200 million rial bail deposit.

Recently, this civil activist, who is temporarily released on bail, announced that the court hearing regarding the charge of her participation in Aban month protests has been postponed.

The U.S. State Department has repeatedly and in various instances condemned violent crackdowns and widespread suppression of protesters, as well as the repeated and continuous violations of the rights of Iranian citizens by the regime ruling that country.
