US Ambassador for Religious Freedom: Iran Remains One of the World’s Most Repressive Regimes

The U.S. Special Ambassador for International Religious Freedom said on Thursday, November 30th, that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains one of the world’s most repressive regimes.

According to the U.S. State Department website, Samuel Brownback said in a press conference in Washington that Iran has treated religious minorities in a horrific manner.

He added that the United States government has consistently spoken out and criticized Iran in this regard, and has placed Iran under the most severe sanctions imposed to date.
