Neda Naji, Women’s Rights Activist, Transferred Again to Evin Prison

“Neda Naji” a women’s rights activist and imprisoned civil activist in Iran has been transferred once again from Qarchak Prison in Varamin to Evin Prison.
“Jamal Ameli”, husband of “Neda Naji”, wrote on his personal Twitter page on Wednesday, Mordad 16: “Today Neda was transferred from Qarchak Prison to the women’s ward of Evin Prison”
Neda Naji, a civil activist, was arrested by security forces on International Workers’ Day (May 1st) and transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin. Just a few days after her arrest, she was transferred from Qarchak Prison to Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence at Evin Prison for further investigations.
This civil activist was transferred back to Qarchak Prison just a few weeks after her transfer to Evin Prison following the completion of her re-interrogation period, and has recently been the target of attacks several times in this prison.
Previously, Jamal Ameli, Ms. Naji’s husband, reported on Twitter on Saturday, Tir 15, that this civil activist was beaten once by a prisoner and once by prison staff and was transferred to the medical ward.
According to him, Neda Naji has experienced vision problems as a result of these attacks and blows to her head.
On the other hand, this civil activist was also attacked and injured in early Mordad of the current year by a prisoner who had been transferred from “Amin Abad Psychiatric Hospital” to Qarchak Prison, but refrained from going to the hospital due to poor treatment by prison staff and nurses.
The United States State Department, following arrests made on International Workers’ Day in Iran, criticized the detention of Iranian labor activists.
The U.S. State Department stated that the Islamic Republic regime, with the money it has spent in Syria, could have paid workers’ rights in Iran.
