Narges Mohammadi Develops Infection; Tagi Rahmani: My Wife is Deprived of Antibiotics

Narges Mohammadi, a civil activist imprisoned in Iran who was transferred to prison following uterine surgery despite doctors’ warnings, has been denied antibiotic medication.
Tagi Rahmani, husband of Narges Mohammadi, the imprisoned civil activist, announced on his Twitter page on Sunday, June 2, that Narges Mohammadi has developed an infection following uterine surgery and has not been given antibiotic medication to date.
He further wrote that “Narges Mohammadi required one month of medical leave according to doctors’ diagnosis and recommendation for treatment, but she was returned to prison.”
It was previously reported that this civil activist was returned to prison after surgery despite doctors’ warnings.
This civil activist, who requires medical care, has previously protested the lack of access to appropriate medical services, but her request for medical leave has not been approved to date.
The refusal to grant Ms. Mohammadi medical leave comes despite statements from her lawyer that his client has served 6 years and 8 months of her 10-year sentence and is eligible for conditional release.
