Teachers Gather in Front of Iran’s Education Ministry in Tehran

A group of teachers from across Iran held a protest gathering on Monday, Ordibehesht 2, in front of the building of the Ministry of Education and Training in Tehran to protest the non-payment of their mission allowances.
According to the Free Union of Workers report, teachers at this gathering protested the current situation by chanting slogans such as “Incompetent minister, resign, resign.”
The Coordination Council of Professional Associations of Iranian Educators announced on Friday, Farvardin 30, by releasing a statement about a nationwide and widespread gathering of Iranian educators to protest officials’ failure to address the legitimate demands of educators on Teachers’ Day. Last year, teachers and educators held protest gatherings repeatedly in various provinces across Iran.
This is not the first time teachers have held protest gatherings in Iran. Last year, teachers and educators in various Iranian cities repeatedly held protest gatherings in protest of teachers’ livelihood conditions, discrimination in payments, lack of free educational facilities for all citizens, and insurance problems.
The U.S. State Department wrote on its Persian Twitter account on Wednesday, Esfand 15, 1397: “The world hears the voice of Iranian teachers, but Iran’s leaders continue to prefer Bashar al-Assad, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis to their own people.”
