Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, Protesting Teacher, Sentenced to Six Months Suspension from Service

Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, a protesting teacher residing in Mashhad who participated in the November gathering of teachers called by the Coordination Council of Teachers’ Guilds, has been sentenced to six months suspension from service.
In the ruling of the initial panel investigating administrative violations of education employees in Razavi Khorasan, whose text Mr. Sepehri published on Sunday, March 10, on his Twitter account, he was accused of participating in an illegal gathering, abandoning his workplace during working hours, and insulting the leader of the Islamic Republic.

Teachers and educators in various cities across Iran held sit-ins in October, November, and December this year in protest of the teachers’ livelihood conditions, discrimination in payments, lack of free educational facilities for all citizens, and insurance problems.
