Asrin Darkale, a women’s rights activist and member of “Women’s Call of Iran,” has been detained by security forces.

“Firoozeh Sharafeddin,” the mother of “Asrin Darkale,” announced in a post on her personal Instagram page that this women’s rights activist was arrested on Sunday, August 6 by officers of the Information Bureau on the street and after being transferred to Garmsar’s prosecutor’s office, this civil activist was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

Based on published information, officers after arresting Ms. Darkale went to this civil activist’s residence, carried out a home search, and confiscated her mobile phone.

The “Women’s Call of Iran” society is made up of a group of active women who assist in matters such as literacy education for vulnerable women in society.

The mother of this member of Women’s Call of Iran, declaring her daughter’s innocence in another Instagram post, wrote that yesterday Asrin Darkale said in a phone call with her father from Evin Prison that she would likely have the opportunity to visit with her family on Monday, August 7, but on Monday when the family went to Evin Prison, they were told that this women’s rights activist “was just arrested and is still under interrogation.”
