Iran’s National Council for Free Elections’ Open Letter: Military Conflict Will Ensure Islamic Republic’s Survival

The “Iran’s National Council for Free Elections” in a letter to the leaders of UN Security Council member states, called for these countries to take action for Iran’s freedom.

In this statement, the “Iran’s National Council for Free Elections” referring to the JCPOA wrote that the Islamic Republic missed a historic opportunity and instead of rebuilding Iran and combating poverty and unemployment, it aided terrorist groups and caused instability in the Middle East.

The group stated in its statement: The Islamic Republic of Iran is not only a serious threat to the Iranian nation, but is considered a threat to freedom-loving countries in the world.

The council wrote in its statement: Any military action against the Islamic Republic of Iran is a grave mistake and unacceptable; in fact, military conflict would only extend the life of this regime, as we witnessed during the Iran-Iraq War.

The “Iran’s National Council for Free Elections” called on UN Security Council member states to impose targeted and smart sanctions against individuals and organizations that directly and indirectly play a role in suppressing freedom and violating the rights of Iranian citizens.

The Security Council will address Iran’s nuclear file on Wednesday under the presidency of President Trump.
