Yazd Registered in UNESCO World Heritage List

The historic city of Yazd was registered on Sunday, July 9th, as Iran’s first historic city and the twenty-second historic monument of Iran in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

The registration of the old section of Yazd took place during the forty-first session of the Cultural Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, in the city of Krakow, Poland.
