Argentine Pope’s Football Advice to AC Milan and Juventus Players
The Argentine leader of the world’s Catholics received players, coaches, and family members of the two finalist teams of Italy’s football league on Friday at the Vatican, and while praying for them, offered them advice.
Pope Francis, who has a strong passion for football and has long been a supporter of San Lorenzo team in Buenos Aires, told both AC Milan and Juventus teams in this meeting that they should always adhere to the positive values of sport, namely coordination, trust, friendship, and dialogue.
It is said that Pope Francis has a large collection of jerseys from various football teams that have been gifted to him. He also frequently meets with footballers from around the world.
The final match of Italy’s football league, Serie A, is scheduled to be held on Saturday at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome between these two popular teams.
