Iranians Were the Fourth Largest Group of Migrants to Germany in February

Germany registered the arrival of one million and one hundred thousand newcomers to the country in 2015, and says their numbers will be lower in 2016.

Syrian citizens are the largest group of migrants to Germany who entered the country in February this year. After them, Iraqi, Afghan, Iranian, and Somali citizens respectively constitute the largest number of asylum seekers to Germany.

Germany’s Interior Ministry stated that the number of newcomers to Germany in February this year was 61,428 people and in January this year was 91,671 people. This agency did not announce the reason for the decrease in figures, but it is possible that part of it may be due to the obstruction by Balkan countries on the route of asylum seekers who want to travel from their original departure point, Greece, to countries such as Germany.
