Head of Judiciary Thanks President’s Stance in Istanbul

The head of the judiciary, emphasizing the efforts of hegemonic countries, including the United States, to infiltrate the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, thanked the positions of the Iranian delegation and the country’s president at the recent session of this organization in Istanbul.

According to Tir Press citing the public relations office of the judiciary, Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani at today’s (Monday) session with senior judicial officials, while congratulating the birth of Imam Muhammad al-Taqqi (peace be upon him), Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and Army Day, noted that today’s world more than ever needs justice and spirituality, and considered the tendency toward false mysticism as a result of this need and certainly a wrong path in achieving true spirituality, saying: The Pure Imams (peace be upon them) have true constitutional and legislative guardianship over different realms, and following the guardianship of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is the healing cure for today’s world.

** Love of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is a means of proximity and behavioral development of humanity

The head of the judiciary, expressing hope in achieving the blessings of the Pure Imams (peace be upon them), called for greater efforts in introducing the guardianship of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to the world and added: The love of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is a means of proximity and behavioral development of humanity, and alongside that, introducing the guardianship of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to today’s world is also a great blessing that should be pursued.

** Youth’s inclination toward seclusion is an example of walking in the path of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani considered the explanation of the justice of Commander of the Faithful Ali (peace be upon him) and introducing it as a religious and Quranic example to the people in a world where great powers take every possible step toward oppression as an undeniable necessity, and referring to the arrival of the spiritual white days, described people’s and especially youth’s inclination toward seclusion as an example of efforts to achieve spirituality and walking in the path of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), saying: The return of youth to spirituality in Islamic Iran is a sign of spiritual growth of society and a response to those who consider the young generation as a generation devoid of spirituality and morality.

** Iran’s military is ideological and powerful

The head of the judiciary, congratulating Army Day and appreciating the constant and unquestionable efforts and struggle of the military in securing the country and honoring the status of the martyrs and self-sacrificers of the military and their families, stated: The military of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been in development throughout the revolution and is an ideological and powerful military that considers its struggle as worship, and such a military is completely different from militaries that for money are willing to kill people anywhere in the world.

** Saudi Arabia has no right to comment on Iran

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani then referred to the holding of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation session in Istanbul and the anti-Iranian positions of some members of this organization during the session, and expressing regret for these positions said: It is surprising and regrettable that an organization that was created to confront the Zionist regime; today targets countries that are in the forefront of confronting this regime and raises completely baseless accusations against them in its statement.

The head of the judiciary, emphasizing the efforts of hegemonic countries including the United States to infiltrate the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, referred to Saudi Arabia’s dark and shameful history of committing violence and killing innocent people and creating terrorist and wicked groups, and stated: It is regrettable that such a country with its lobbies against the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hezbollah of Lebanon, which are the pride of the Islamic world in fighting against the usurping Zionist regime, causes such a statement to be issued.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani thanked the response and positions of the Iranian delegation and the country’s president at this session and added: A country like Saudi Arabia with a black record of aggression against Yemen and killing innocent children and women has no right to comment on Iran, and we hope that in future periods, with the advice of officials and pressure from Islamic world elites, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will reform its conduct and return to its principles in defending Islamic countries against the Zionist regime.

** Emphasis on faster attention to flood victims’ conditions and resolving their problems

The head of the judiciary, in another part of his remarks, referring to the recent floods in some provinces of the country and offering condolences to the families of flood victims, called for faster attention to the conditions of flood victims and resolution of their problems.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said: Judicial officials in flood-affected provinces should cooperate in assisting and compensating for damages by provincial executive officials to the extent possible, and the State Inspection Organization should also monitor the process of executive bodies addressing flood victims’ problems.

** Americans have no qualms about spreading false and absurd statements

In the concluding part of his remarks, the head of the judiciary referred to the recent human rights attacks of America and its State Department report that “contains false claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran” and while condemning such reports that are constantly repeated, said: Americans once again showed that they are unjust and treacherous in all domains and have no qualms about spreading false and absurd statements.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, emphasizing that this report contains inappropriate insults and vulgar and false claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the country’s judiciary, added: One is amazed that an official agency of a country claiming to be a human rights champion and global power makes such incorrect statements and in between says that since we don’t have an embassy in Iran, we have relied on public reports and NGOs; such logic is worse than the offense itself, that you accept any lie from opposing forces of a country and formally publish it.

The head of the judiciary then referred to some of the claims mentioned in the US State Department report, including a claim about issuing death sentences for murder, and said: In the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran, there is no execution for murder, but rather it is retribution, which is a type of right, a right that the heirs of the victim have, and this right is not necessarily always exercised because sometimes the heirs of the victim waive their right to retribution. Therefore, the penalty of execution for murder is an absurd statement.

** The claim of execution for insulting high-ranking officials is false

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani also declared the claim about execution for the charge of insulting high-ranking officials and conspiracy against national security as false and added: Also, the report claims that enmity with God also results in a death sentence, while their reference is to a jurisprudential and legal discussion of moharebeh (enmity with God) which has its special conditions.

The head of the judiciary counted the Americans’ objection to some executions related to drug trafficking as another aspect of the lies in the recent report and said: Not all stages of fighting drug trafficking end in execution, and the Islamic Republic of Iran in its process of fighting drug crimes, which involves very high costs, is actually trying to prevent drugs produced in Afghanistan, a country under American control, from reaching Europe and other countries, yet it is strange that Western countries instead of encouraging Iran in this fight, attack us.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani declared one other false claim in the US State Department report as “execution for insulting the memory of Imam (R.A.) and the Supreme Leader” and emphasizing that “there is no bigger lie than this,” added: Article 514 of the Islamic Penal Code stipulates that whoever insults His Eminence Imam (R.A.), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in any way is sentenced to six months to two years imprisonment (another article in the same law states that an attempt on the life of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic system of Iran carries a death sentence, which of course this article is not related to the subject of insult, and here the issue of assassination is raised).

The head of the judiciary, raising the question “Can’t America, which doesn’t have an embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran, even find the text of the law?” said: Can a country that spends billions of dollars destroying other countries and committing crimes against them not prepare a law book so that by referring to the relevant articles, they don’t spread such false and absurd statements, and do they have to resort to the support of opponents of a country and government to prepare such reports?

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani declared judicial immunity of Iranian government officials and security forces as another lie in the American report and added: This false claim was raised while we prosecuted one of the highest government officials of the previous government in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and now his verdict is being executed, and the judicial organization of the armed forces always investigates crimes of security and military officials and issues necessary rulings.

** The judiciary pursues its work with authority

The head of the judiciary considered the raising of such false claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and especially the judiciary, as an indicator of the impermeability of the judicial system and implementation of legal duties in confronting enemy pressures and attacks, and emphasized: The judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran pursues its work with authority and has blocked the infiltration of enemies and sedition-mongers, and this is the embodiment of what Imam (R.A.) said: whenever you see others speaking against you, know that you have done your job correctly.

** America has no right to impose its wrong and humanistic standards on others

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, emphasizing that every country has its own values and norms and America cannot and has no right to impose its wrong and humanistic standards on others, referred to American crimes in various countries and the killing of women, men, innocent people, and Black people in American cities and streets, and said: American crimes across the world are greater than they want and allow themselves to twist human rights prescriptions for other countries.

The head of the judiciary described the claim regarding deaths in Iranian prisons as another irrelevant statement in the State Department report and stated: Death and mortality of prisoners, especially elderly individuals and some people addicted to drugs, is an almost possible matter in all prisons, and of course proving that some deaths may be due to torture is a different matter which is merely a claim and cannot be accepted without evidence.

** Human Rights Headquarters and Foreign Ministry respond to US State Department claims

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani asked the Human Rights Headquarters and officials of the Foreign Ministry to respond with authority and firmness and in a completely reasoned and logical manner line by line to the false claims of the recent US State Department report so that world people become aware of the constant lies of the American government.

In today’s session, discussion on reducing the criminal prison population continued and some items were approved.
