Young Danish Girl Recently Converted to Islam Arrested with Explosive Materials

A teenage girl who recently converted to Islam has been arrested by Danish police with quantities of explosive materials and a bomb-making instruction booklet.

Independent Ireland, citing police sources, reported that an accomplice of this 16-year-old girl, a 24-year-old woman, has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting in bomb preparation. Local media have also stated that this 24-year-old woman received terrorist training in Syria.

Denmark’s national television network TV2 also reported that this teenage girl who recently converted to Islam was arrested on January 13 of this year along with quantities of bomb preparation materials and a bomb-making instruction manual.
Independent Ireland further stated that Danish media reported that both girls have claimed innocence, and due to security concerns, the names of these two individuals have not been disclosed so far.

Additionally, Denmark’s security agency stated that following this arrest, Denmark’s security alert level has not changed since February of last year following the terrorist attack at the Jewish synagogue.
