The official number of coronavirus cases in Iran has exceeded 380,000.

Sima Lari, a spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, announced on Thursday that 129 people in Iran have died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to him, nearly two thousand people have also been identified as new patients.
Including the new cases, the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has exceeded 380,000, and the death toll has been announced at nearly 22,000.
There is serious doubt about the Ministry of Health's statistics, and a number of experts and doctors believe the actual statistics in Iran are much higher than the government statistics.
According to the Ministry of Health spokesperson, 13 provinces, including Tehran and the northern provinces of the country, are still in red status and 15 other provinces are in alert status.
Despite this trend, Iranian Education Minister Mohsen Haji Mirzaei announced on Thursday that schools will resume their work in person starting on September 5.
According to the Minister of Education, due to the spread of the coronavirus, measures have been taken, including changing schools and reducing the time students spend in class to 35 minutes.
The decision to reopen schools was made at a time when a number of health officials opposed the presence of students in schools.
