The United States also held Iran responsible for the attack on the Israeli tanker.

Following Israel and Britain, the United States has blamed Iran for the attack on an Israeli-operated tanker off the coast of the Gulf of Oman. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has promised an “appropriate response” to the attack.

In a speech, the US Secretary of State held Iran responsible for the attack on an Israeli-operated oil tanker off the coast of the Sea of Oman.

According to the German news agency, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday, August 1, that the US government is now discussing and exchanging views with its allies on deciding on an "appropriate response" to the attack.

Blinken emphasized that the United States, after reviewing the evidence, has concluded that Iran carried out the attack on July 29 with the help of explosive drones.

A Briton and a Romanian were killed in the attack, which took place on August 27.

Blinken stressed that there was “no justification for this attack.” He said Iran’s actions threaten freedom of navigation, international trade and the lives of ship crews.

Before him, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid had held Iran responsible for the attack.

Yair Lapid met with Anthony Blinken on Saturday, August 29, to discuss the matter. Blinken promised Israel to assist in its investigation to establish the facts.

Iran has denied involvement in the attack.
