Concerts and music education banned in Iranian universities

After banning mixed camps at universities, the Supreme Leader's office at universities drafted regulations that also banned concerts and music education in general.
According to Iranian media reports, according to the new regulations of the Supreme Leader's Representative Body in Universities, the use of music is only permitted "in an incidental" and "conditional" manner in university programs.
The six conditions announced for this type of music are: "Strengthening national identity and in line with Islamic standards", "Having guiding content and theme to encourage moral, social, political and revolutionary duties", "Strengthening scientific spirit, self-confidence and desire for progress", "Using culturally justified singers and figures", "Not inducing emotions outside the norm, exciting and stimulating lust and specific to vulgarity and fun and play" and "Abstaining from poetry and themes that encourage unbridledness, despair and hopelessness, superficiality and neglect of human status and servitude".
However, Article 4 of the regulations considers concerts and independent music programs to be far from the university's priorities and prohibits them altogether.
This regulation also prohibits music education at the university and only allows it for students whose approved curriculum includes music.
Previously, the Ministry of Science had banned the holding of mixed student camps.
