Medical leave for imprisoned environmental activist Taher Ghadirian is being "refused"

HRANA News Agency, citing its sources, writes that imprisoned environmental activist Taher Ghadirian needs leave and specialized medical care due to an illness.

The news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, HRANA, writes that prison officials are refusing to send Mr. Ghadirian on medical leave.

A source close to Taher Ghadirian's family told this news agency that the environmental activist suffers from thyroid problems and has lost a lot of weight.

Some environmental activists have also written on social media in recent hours about the need to grant Taher Ghadirian sick leave.

Taher Ghadirian has been in prison with a group of environmental activists for about 5 years. He faces an 8-year sentence on charges of "collaborating with the US government."
