Deployment of 400 ‘Hijab Enforcers’ with 12 Million Toman Monthly Salary in Tehran Metro

400 ‘hijab enforcers’ with a monthly salary of 12 million tomans have been deployed in Tehran Metro to combat non-compliance with hijab requirements.
According to the online news agency ‘Faraz’, 400 hijab enforcers have been hired with a monthly salary of 12 million tomans to prevent women without hijabs from entering metro cars and to hand them over to law enforcement authorities. It should be noted that they will also receive ‘hardship allowances’.
The allocation of a monthly salary of 12 million tomans for those who enforce mandatory hijab on women comes at a time when according to a decision by the High Labor Council in 1402, the minimum monthly wage for workers is less than 5 million and 310 thousand tomans, and this amount for workers covered by labor law who are married and have children is approximately 8 million tomans.
It should be noted that this wage payment does not apply to individuals not covered by labor law, rather their wages are lower than the High Labor Council decision.
Government hijab enforcement personnel whose job is limited to verbal warnings and whose responsibility is to report women to law enforcement authorities in case of non-compliance, not only receive 12 million toman salaries but also benefit from hardship allowances. This is one of the injustices imposed on the Iranian people by the Islamic Republic government. Many people, despite possessing high educational qualifications, remain unemployed or receive minimal wages, while government officials, without any effort, enjoy very high salaries and benefits.
It should be noted that the public reaction to this government action is such that more and more people appear in public places without hijabs. The people have announced that they have no fear of the government and its agents, and until the victory of the popular revolution, they will continue their uprising, especially without observing mandatory hijab requirements.
